The Jackson County Democratic Committee’s largest single fundraiser each year is achieved by providing volunteers to staff information booths on Michigan International Speedway race weekends.
The Democrats stand to raise approximately $3,000 this year over the course of race weekends June 7-9 and August 9-11. In order to do this, we need six volunteers per day for each of the six days of racing.
We had a great turnout for the June race and are halfway to our fundraising goal. Now, let’s make sure we have enough volunteers for the August event. If you helped in June, we encourage you to volunteer again for an August shift. And if you couldn’t join us in join us in June, there’s still opportunities to help out.
Contact JCDC Chair Conner Wood at email@example.com for any questions.
Working at MIS is a fun way to spend a summer day, particularly if you’re a race fan. Not only is it a chance to share the excitement of auto racing, but it’s also a great way to get to know some of your fellow Democrats.
The shifts are for a full day, and volunteers must go through one of two training sessions with MIS officials. Those who have volunteered previously still must renew the training each year. The first training session for 2019 is Saturday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to noon.
By being one of the 36 people who spend a day helping at the track., you’ll be able to help raise enough money to pay our rent for three months.
