Urban Thanks Supporters for Race Empowering Working Families
Libbi Urban, Democratic nominee for Michigan’s 5th Congressional District seat, issued the following statement regarding the Nov. 5th election.
“We entered this race to give working families a voice and to ensure the issues important to them received the attention they deserved. We accomplished that mission. We started from scratch, built a community, and carried our collective message of hope and change to every corner of this district.
“We spoke to to thousands of people – in fire halls, at fairs, at small businesses, on picket lines, around kitchen tables, at doorsteps and more. And we learned how eagerly they crave better representation and more effective leadership in Washington.
“Although we fell short in our race against a deeply entrenched incumbent with a well funded machine, we raised the bar for the people of the 5th District. We empowered more voters and started conversations that will continue in the months to come.
“I want to thank my supporters and the people of the 5th District. It was a privilege to make this journey with “.
