Leader of Jackson County Democrats Calls Out Tim Walberg for Failed Policies

There is an unconstitutional, unpatriotic, unprecedented, assault on democracy by the executive branch at the federal level. The continued capitulation by United States Congressperson Tim Walberg, as well as GOP state level legislators, is unacceptable. These elected officials are content to carry the water for their dear leader, instead of show brave concern for the constitution.

We must join together and continue to:

  • 1. Resist
  • 2. Continue to demand all elected civil servants uphold their oath of office
  • 3. Continue to demand accountability for those oath violators.

Congressperson Walberg refuses to use his constitutional authority to protect our country from this assault on democracy.

There are local people who are adversely impacted by the barriers and obstructions to resources and opportunities this creates. We must work together in support for those who have been or will be experiencing those barriers.

Some people believe they are unaffected by the cutting and gutting, under staffing, and under funding of programs. The truth is when the cuts to funding for Veteran’s Administration Services, and Medicaid, are implemented, or when the state legislature makes laws in advance to cut resources and opportunities they consider “on the chopping block” because of this assault on democracy, it will impact almost everyone in our community. Higher health care prices, fewer services available in our area. and huge wait times for help are what is coming if we don’t get our funding back.

A veteran family member may now have to drive further away for V.A. Services, or wait longer between necessary prescribed treatments due to funding cuts. We can all agree V.A. Services are services no veteran should ever be denied, EVER!

We have a large percentage of people in our community receiving Medicaid services. With cuts to funding and staffing for Medicaid, people will no longer be able to access necessary, prescribed medical treatment, or needed assisted living services. Healthcare workers could lose their jobs, and our convenient health care locations may be shuttered.

Local hospital and health care treatment facilities rely on Medicaid for a large percentage of their patient treatment. Without Medicaid they will not be able to sustain needed treatments for ALL people.

At the state level these cuts to the most needed programs will result in an undue burden because the funding for these programs and services was already allocated to go to the needed places. Making up the difference in tax revenue means we continue to pay out money to the federal government in the same quantity as before, but now we get less of it back, and have to fill in the tax void.

Take time to act now! Call or write U.S. Congressperson Tim Walberg to uphold the constitution! Tell him to protect medicaid and veterans services by demanding Michigan receives our already allocated funds! Tell Congressperson Walberg to use the U.S. Constitutional authority of checks and balances! Contact the Jackson office at: 401 W. Michigan Ave, 49201, (517) 780-9075, Monday – Friday 9:00 – 5:30 the door is always locked, you have to knock.

I rise to lift my voice in support of those people in our community who will be most adversely affected by Congressperson Walberg’s continued subservience to the assault on our democracy in the executive branch at the federal level. Will you join us?
