JCDC endorsed Jackson City Council candidates send Thank You’s!

The Jackson County Democratic Committee would like to congratulate all of our endorsed candidates in their victories in the Jackson City Council elections that were held on November 4, 2025.

Each candidate has send over thank you message and we would like to share them with you.


Arlene Robinson – Ward 1

Greetings JCDC friends!

This message comes to give thanks to the Jackson County Democratic Committee for your support in my 2025 re-election candidacy for 1st Ward City Council. 

I am very grateful and honored for the multiple efforts made during the campaign season such as the kind words of encouragement, personal endorsement, literature drops and phone banking to name a few. 

The city council and management staff have listened to the people in Ward 1 and have started a great work in building a better environment on the south side of Jackson. It is certainly a honor and privilege to help lead this effort and I am truly honored for the constituents vote of confidence for re-election on November 4th.

I am ready to continue the work to improve public safety, increase our economic environment and infrastructure improvements.

Angelita Gunn – Ward 3

First, thank you to the Jackson County Democratic Committee for its support of my candidacy for the Jackson city council seat in Ward 3.

Also, thank you to the volunteers who knocked doors and made phone calls to both get me through the primary and re-elected.

I am honored and grateful to be to serving the city of Jackson on the City Council for a second term.

The council has been moving forward in the areas of housing and investing in local neighborhoods. During my second term, I will continue to work with the Affordable Housing Board to meets goal of 100 new homes for Jackson families by December 30, 2026.

I will continue to work with the Mayor and City Council to find affordable solutions for infrastructure projects, like street resurfacing.

Ward 3 voters have witnessed growth Jackson is experiencing and have put it in my hands to keep up the momentum.

I am ready to go to work and excited for this opportunity.

Shalanda Hunt – Ward 5

I want to sincerely thank you for your endorsement of my grassroots campaign for Jackson City Council -Ward 5 and for the incredible support that was shown throughout this journey. Your dedication knocking on doors, assisting with phone banking, sharing words of encouragement, and standing behind my leadership meant a lot to me.

This victory is about us! Together, through collaboration, transparency ,and action we will achieve what our city deserves!

I’m truly inspired by your belief in me and our shared vision for positive change.

I’m ready to continue working for the betterment of ALL!
