The Jackson County Democratic Committee is excited to announce Michigan Democratic Party Chair Lavora Barnes will be the keynote speaker for the 62nd annual FDR Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Time is running out to RSVP for this annual event, which is key a key fundraiser in JCDC’s effort to help elect Democrats in Jackson County.

In February 2019, Lavora was elected to lead our party, making her the first person of color elected to serve as state party chair in Michigan. Prior to being elected chair, she was the Michigan state director for Obama for America in 2012, political and communications director for the Michigan House Democrats, and chief operating officer for the MDP.
She’s an amazing leader for our party, and we are lucky to have her join us in Jackson next weekend.
The annual FDR Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. at Gene Davis & Sons Banquet and Convention Center, 3575 Francis St., Jackson, Michigan. will include a full dinner and a cash-only bar (for those 21 years of age and older).
In addition to our speakers, the JCDC will be celebrating its Volunteer of the Year and honoring a longtime Democrat with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
